The foods we traditionally serve at the Easter season are scrumptious paired with Champagne and sparkling wines. Glazed ham, roast leg of lamb, sweet or new potatoes, deviled eggs, ambrosia salads, lemon cake – all perfect with bubbly.

Charles Heidsieck Brut Reserve Non-Vintage – About $35.00
This is a full-bodied, non-vintage Brut Champagne that drinks like a vintage bottle. The bubbles stay in the glass until you’ve finished the wine. A toasty creaminess, and luxuriously warm and ripe tropical fruits abound in this dry, but not too dry Champagne.

An extraordinary value for a fine, rich bottle of true Champagne. The maturity of the wine pairs it well from aperitif through dinner.

Roederer Estate Brut Non-Vintage – About $20.00
From the maker’s of the world-famous French Cristal, Roederer’s California sparkling wines have gained enormous respect. Every year, without fail, Roederer’s non-vintage Estate bottle is a great bottle of wine. The grapes are estate grown using the traditional Chardonnay and Pinot Noir blend.

This is a beautifully crafted mosaic of complex flavors. Pears and green apples balance each other, with a sumptuous creamy mouth feel. Perfect bubbles and a long exquisite finish.

Zardetto Prosecco Brut Non-Vintage – About 16.00
This Italian, off dry sparkler from the Veneto area (home to Verona, Venice and Garda) is simply delicious. The aromas are richly fragrant, lemon and honey are in perfect balance – as required in quality Prosecco. The bubbles are proper and tiny (not always the case in Prosecco).

This is the perfect wine for an aperitif, a brunch, or a glass-in-hand while cozied up with a favorite book. Summer or winter, this wine works.

Segura Viudas Aria Brut Non-Vintage Cava – About $11.00
An incredible Spanish sparkler for this price – and made in the “method of Champagne” – the labor intensive, centuries old hallmark of French Champagnes.

What a value! Everything is pulled together in this dry wine. The nutty and tropical flavors give Aria a luxuriant mouth feel, with yeasty, freshly baked bread, pineapple and almonds joining in unflappable composure.

Bring out the box of chocolate truffles – these wines are worthy.
